I'm Back and Running

Technology is a great thing when it is used in the last two years. I got hot home from my mission, and I went to open My Email jedharr@msn.com and it woulf not let me in. the Porgram said that if lest unused for 18 months than I would get locked out. so in the mean time I opened another account and kinda of forgot about this blog. I got home from College a few weeks ago and I start to do some cleaning and I found the passwords for this Blog. so I'm back!!! A Lot has happened since I have gotten back. I have been at college for the last year. I am currently 5 classes away from getting my bachelors degree in Business, and so I am in the Process of transferring to Utah to be able to finish my last few classes while working and getting some more experience in the workforce. The last school year 2012-2013 has been great. I had the chance to Play Basketball at SVU where my team won 3ed place. not the funnest ending, losing, but it was still fun. I enjoyed going back to the east coast and learning back there. I met some really great friends. Now back here in Utah I have applied to UVU and U of U, and I'm waiting to hear back from them. While Applying to U of U I was asked to write a short introduction about myself using a writing prompt. I've posted it below. Written 5/9/2013 Writing Prompt: “Ralph Waldo Emerson said: "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." What goals do you currently have for yourself and how will the Honors College help you "make a difference, live and live well" in the community around you?” The year I turned 14 was a year that I proved to myself that I can do hard things. While fourteen Years old I earned my eagle, the project required me to raise $14,000 dollars by selling private advertising in order to supply several local state parks with 6 dispensers and 10,000 garbage bags to keep the parks clean. Selling these spots was difficult, many mocked that I was selling advertising space “on trash bags!” It was however a valuable service and companies who took the opportunity were the last to advertise within the state park because legislation was set forth quickly after that eliminated this opportunity within state park boundaries. This service was not offered at the time and immediately improved the park cleanliness, and continues to improve the park and experiences of all who visit them today. By encouraging visitors to clean up after themselves, the park has saved thousands of man hours spent cleaning up every year, and every visitor is given an opportunity to experience those state parks in a clean, beautiful environment. At 14 I also started my college experience at Dixie State College. Which lead to receiving my associate’s degree when I was 18. I lived my 14th year of life well! Since that year, I completed the Associate of Science degree at Dixie State College. I was given an opportunity to attend Southern Virginia University, SVU and play college basketball, a dream come true. SVU was 2170 miles from home. It was not an easy experience, but a preparation for broader adventures. Without a car for several months, in a town with no public transportation, I resorted to my bicycle. I lived off campus, without a food plan, and rode my bike the 10 miles out of town to the nearest grocery store, carrying the groceries home in my backpack after basketball practice. My SVU men’s basketball team; at the USCAA National tournament we won 2nd place in 2010 and 3rd place in 2013. Education has always been important to me, but education is found in many ways, not just books. I have worked hard to place myself in the position that I am in, and while my basketball Coach at SVU is asking me to stay, I feel that I need to grow more and meet new people so that I can live life to its fullest and place myself in a position that will benefit myself, my family, and others. I have served a LDS mission in Taiwan where I learned to speak Mandarin Chinese. I have also taken 54 credits at Southern Virginia University (SVU). I only have 15 credits left to graduate with my bachelor’s degree in business. Among the several goals and dreams that I have is to own my own company, I enjoy building things and seeing them succeed. I hope to be able to return to Taiwan, and visit China for work as an international businessman working with international trade contracts. The theme of SVU is to create Leader Servants; a theme that I have had my entire life, and is one that I plan on continuing to develop over the years. While I was in Taiwan I met several people who told me that knowing people was important, but the real important thing was that others knew you. I know that the right thing is often the hard thing, thus I am trying to transfer to Utah. I am Jedediah Craig Harr, and I have chosen to live life to its fullest. Well thats it for today, But there will be more coming.

Happy Chinese New Year! Year of the Dragon

Happy Chinese New year! This is the year of the Dragon.

Thank you for all that you do for me and for your example. I am sorry that this has been a hard week. Ann was a good Dog. I am sad to hear she needed to go, but I am glad that she is not in pain. She will be missed by a lot of people. She is loved. I hope that Dan will be ok.

Sounds like you all are getting a lot of snow and rain. Glad that you are getting the water. I'm glad that everyone is safe and having a good time. Jeeping sounds like fun.

This week has been good. It has been a bit slower than usually because of the Chinese New Year. Everyone is "Mang2" busy getting ready for it and then they can't meet until the week after it is over so this week will be an interesting one as well. The people that we find this week will be good though. Yesterday we had a speaker come and talk to us for the stake, he talked about having faith and love to overcome our trials and troubles. I know that when we do our part and love the people and Trust our Father in Heaven that we can do anything. He also talked about how when we die we must overcome all things in order to go back to our Fathers house. So we all must overcome everything in order to get the most blessings. I hope that we all can do that and that we all can live together. It was a nice reminder that we need to work hard and pray for the Lords help and guidance; and then get up and work.

So I'll tell you about these photos real quick. A couple are with chicken feet. Yup I got to eat chicken feet. It is interesting trying to eat but describing it might not be the best. You might not like it. It is was interesting. It tasted ok. Better than some of the other things that they eat here. Also there is a photo of us which we are going to give the family's that invite us to dinner this week. There is also a shoe photo of our district.

I am grateful for all that you do for me. I hope that you all are happy and healthy. I'll email you for more a bit later. My companion can't log into his account and so I'll get to talk to you again soon. Hope that you all are having a great Sunday.

Love you,

Elder Harr

Hey Awesome Family it is me again. Wow love the photos. Thank you for a smile and a update. Love the photos. Looks like Little Sophia is getting big, growing up fast! Wow. SLow down don't you know that you are not allowed to do that until I get back? haha - I Remembering you telling me that when I was growing up. I thought that it was funny but I think that I am starting to understand a little bit more now than I did then. Wow.

Well today I have had miracles happen. I had interviews with President this week and I had to tell him the date that I was going home. After talking to him about it I told him that I was going to go home on Aug 14th and that although that that might be a short time at home, and that I did not know when I would be starting school that I felt like the July date was a bit short. Well today I got on the SVU site and guess what they posted the dates. The first day of school is Sep 4th. That will give me more time at home with you before I need to go out there. Trust the Lord and the rest will work itself out!

I'm grateful that I have the chance to work and serve the Lord and to spread the message with the world; to bring the world back unto Christ. This week I was reminded of the importance of a Prophet. I am so grateful that we have a Prophet to guide us and to help us know that Jesus has a body and lives. Last Saturday while trying to contact as many people as I could because we have not found any investigators at all.. anyway I contacted another missionary for another Christan church and he started to talk to me about the Bible and how the Bible does not say anything about the Americas, and a visit there. I told him not specifically but, then reminded him that Jesus after he was resurrected said that he needed to visit other people. He then proceeded to tell me that Jesus when he was resurrected didn't really have a body and that even though he could not explain that he was like, ya, Jesus is in you and me. He is a spirit and that he can be everywhere and no where at the same time because He is not in a real body. I then asked him why Peter was able to feel his hands and hes feet and why Jesus said be not doubting but believing? That was a body and this nice man told me that was a spirit. He tried to explain that God has all power and that did happen but it was not a real body. This is why we need a Prophet, because we have living prophets we can clearly understand who Christ and His Father are and who they are in relation to us. You and I are children of a Father in Heaven and he has a body of flesh and bones. He lives. I kindly invited this man to come to Church, after testifying that Christ had a body, just Like the Bible said, and although he said he might not do it he thanked me for the invite and we left. Prophets are so important in leading us back to our Father in Heaven.

Well that was one of the many experiences that happened this week. I grew a lot this week and I hope that I can improve and grow from what happened this week.

Well I love you all so much. Have a great week. Know that I love you all so much.
