Conference Weekend

Hey everyone. I had a great weekend, my family watched conference, and I thought that it was amazing; I especially liked hearing from the prophet (president Monson). But before that my mom and dad ran the St George marathon, and it rained the whole time. I did not run because my family has a rule that you can only run one mile for every mile that you are old, so I have a little while before that can happen, so I helped with the marathon instead of running in it. So I helped from five to ten o-clock pm on Friday, and four to six am on Saturday.

The marathon time at our house in like the busiest time of our year next to Christmas and Halloween, Everyone comes down and things tend to get done faster during this time. And it is way fun to watch conference with the whole family and then talk about what we thought and what talks we liked.

As I watched conference, there were several talks that hit me. I thought that the whole Saturday morning session was a "come to Jesus meeting" and your slacking pick it up. I thought that the points of white shirts and cell phones really hit home to me, because I have wanted to wear different colors of shirts at times, but I always find that I'm wearing a white one. And the cell phones during sacrament, was like a duhhh wakeup call, like you say you will remember me but you are texting while you are making the promise , kind of a oxymoron.

Anyway I got a lot out of it; it renewed my testimony of the prophet Joseph smith and the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,

So here is a little bit about me, I am 6’8” and love to do a lot of things, including basketball, Hiking, Jeeping, Rock-climbing, Repelling, Mountain biking and Racing, triathlons and the list continues. I also have a great family that plays hard with me. I am the oldest of seven, I’m Jed 17, Liesl is 15, Chandler is 13, Sam is 8, Brinley is 6, Sara is 5, and Jakob is 1. So we have quite the crew.
I have a 1989 Jeep YJ, that lives up to the name of jeep (Just Enjoying Every Penny), there is always something that is being worked on, but that’s a jeep thing, I went wheeling last night and had a blast, when I go wheeling I usually go with a friend that puts my jeep in the dust, so I end up being the slow one in the group. But that is ok because they end up breaking something before the night is over, so I think that as long as mine keeps running, I am doing great.
I am a senior in high school, but am in college at Dixie State College. This is one of the many things that I have done with the help of my mom, she is awesome, I have been working on it since my freshmen year, and will graduate with my Associates Degree in science in the spring. This is the joke in my family because I will have graduated from college before I graduate from high school.
One of the other things that I have accomplished is my Eagle Scout award. For my project I raised over $10,000 and bought garbage bags to place at our local lakes, I also built the stands that they are dispensed in; hopefully I will get some photos up of this to. I raised the money by selling advertising on the bag, this has given the local companies, that sponsored my project an edge, because the local lakes are run by the state, and this is the only real advertising that goes on there.

Hi!

Hey every one, this is my first real post so we’ll see how it goes. Thanks to my mom and Liesl, my sister, for setting this up.

I love to play basketball, I have played ever since I was a baby, but I love to do a lot of things, including triathlons, biking, hiking, Jeeping (with a capital J), rock climbing, repelling and many more. Last week my family and I did the kokopelli tri. I took 1st in my division and 25 overall. My dad also took first in his division. My family also participates in bike races. We have a 100 mile ride coming up in two or three weeks, that’s too far ahead to worry about yet, but it’s coming. We like to be active, we race mountain bikes every year and love to push ourselves.

I am a senior at Dixie high school, I take two classes there. I am also a student at Dixie state college, and will get my Associate of Science degree in the spring. This is the family joke because I will have my Associates Degree before I graduate from high school. I’m excited for that.

I own a 1989 Jeep Wrangler, I try to get a photo of it up soon. I’m afraid that the sayings “Just Empty Every Pocket” and “Just Everyone Else’s Parts” are true. However, I prefer “Just Enjoying Every Penny” because “It’s a jeep thing you wouldn’t understand” unless you have a jeep!
