27 Lessons - 20th Birthday

How is the most awesome family in the world? Thank you so much for your thoughts and your prayers. Today I hope that you all are having a good time and that you all are healthy. I love you all so much.

Thank you for the photos. I loved seeing them. I am glad that you are doing well. Thank you for the packages, I got two last Sunday. I am so lucky. Thank you so much for the eggs. Easter is such a wonderful time to remember the new life that our Lord Jesus Christ has given us each. I love Him and I hope that I can live up to what He expects us to do. He does so much for us. I am grateful that through the Atonement we can have a hope for a better world and for our lives together. I know that my "Savior lives, my Savior loves, my Savior is always there for me. My God he is, my God he was, my God he's always gonna be" That is from a song that I have in my apartment that I love to listen to because it is pure testimony and truth.

This week has been crazy. It has been AWESOME! My new companions are Elders Ah puck, and Herrin. They are awesome! We taught the most lessons this week that I have ever had on my mission, 27! I love running and teaching as much and as fast as I can. Thank you for your example of doing hard things and working hard. Keep doing it. In order to grow we have to do hard things. It reminds me of a saying that I heard: "The successful are not successful because they do something easy, they find a hard thing that no one likes to do and they master it." Our life was meant to be hard and difficult. Thank you for teaching me this lesson, there are a lot of missionaries that have not learned this lesson, and they are having to learn it the hard way.

Thank you so much for your example.

This week I am sending a friend to St George. His name is Thomas. He a my ward mission leader and he can speak almost perfect English. He is coming to Utah for a month. I'm not sure exactly what his plans are, other than go to see Elder Barlow and another Elder from Santa Clara Broadhead. I am not sure where he will be but I know that this Saturday he will be in St George. Know that I love you. Know that I am thinking of you. Know that I love you.

This last week I made cookies, Last Monday for breakfast. They were not the greatest but they where still able to be eaten. Thank you for sending me cookies and helping me remember what they are supposed to taste like :) haha. Love you. Also Thomas took us out to lunch at TJI Fridays this week for my Birthday. He is really cool. He helps us do so much.

After we had dinner he bought a cake and candles, but Thomas was in a hurry and told them that I was turning 20 and so they hurried and threw in the candles. Latter he learned that they had made a mistake and that they had given us 29, no big, their are candles just the same. I am grateful for good friends. Last week we also went to the ZOO and saw a swimming Tiger. His cage was not the biggest thing in the world and so he was using all of it to exercise. Funny Tiger.

Wow time goes so fast I need to start closing. I love you, I can't wait to talk to you in two weeks. My companions are calling home on that Sunday and Monday here in Taiwan. When is the best time to call home to you? Do you want it on your Mothers day or Saturday? What work's best? Let me know what you think. You're awesome. We can talk about this next week.

Thank you so much for working on my Costco card. I went there last week and used it. Thank you.

Have fun. Thank you for the photos and the Space pens, they are awesome I'll use them. Thank you for all you do.

Love you,

Elder Harr

Furnace of Refinement

Wow I'm sorry I am so LATE emailing.
This week has gone by some what at a normal pace as my companion andI have been working. I am grateful for your examples for all that you do for me and those around you, thank you. I am sorry that I am Emailing slow today, This morning when it came time to email I didn't not have enough time to email and get back home in time. This week my companion has been sick, this has caused some interesting discussions with each other; in part because he is sick, in part because he does not have the most healthy body in the first place, in part because he is a new missionary and member with not a ton of time to think of some of the ways to present our message; as we try to be obedient and do what we are told we need to do and do the other things as well, I know that I am preaching to the team that already knowes how to be amazing.

Wow I loved conference, I seem to love it more and more every year. I love learning and trying to see how the current message relates to me. This year I think that the talk that stood out the most to me was priesthood President Monsen. I could not help but think of some of the disagreements that we have had with others in the Field of entertainment, I am grateful for your example and for the things that we talked about, today I was walking and thinking of you guys, we were taking a train to zhubei, a very close place and we could have ridden our bikes and been just fine and I have in the past, but in order to save time and strength for my companion we take the train, I heard a guy say that the rain was coming and that it would start very soon, when we got off of the train I took a wiff, and smelled trying to smell the rain, it brought back memories of singing songs of Clint Black, " I can't see a single storm cloud in the sky, but I sure can smell the rain" or " if we are ever going to see a rainbow, we'll have to stand alittle rain" how this applys to our lives I can think of several ways. I have also been thinking a bit about knives. here in Taiwan we can but relatively cheap the really good forged steel knives. I have been thinking of how we have to go through the fire and be beat to until we can not be beat any more and then the lord will fold us over and do it again, and when we are done we are 200+ times stronger than if we had not gone through the fire. also when we are beat and cool and are heated and beat then cooled again our lives take on another beauty, just like the earth after a good rain becomes more beautiful, same with our life's. anyway I've been think of you and know that I love you, I am grateful to see that we all are changing for the better and we are being made stronger.

Sounds like you had a fun week, keep playing hard and making memories.

I love you I know that his church is true, Jesus Lives and the knows us.

I love you all, Thank you all for your exmple.

Native Companion

Hey Awesome family you are so amazing!

Thank you for the photos, I love them, I am grateful that you all are having fun in Sunny St George. I love hearing from you thank you.

This week was a week of change. My Companion is an Elder Fan4. He is 28 years old and he had some great faith, because he had not been a member for over a year yet. He is from the southern Part of Taiwan and he thinks that it is cold here, even though it is 70's+ I think that it is funny. anyway I am adjusting to working with a part time Taiwanese missionary, because they do work differently than other missionary's do. I think that I have adjusted alittle bit but there is more that needs to happen before we can be the best that we can be. My companion Elder Fan will be here for the whole transfer and so it is like I'm training a new missionary, almost, he will have served for two months by the time that he leaves and so he served for a month before he came to xin zhu. He is interesting, had quite a few differences but we are working to find the balance.

This week turned out pretty good. My companion did not send his stuff, his bike, until the day that he came here, so this posed for some problems as we had appointments to get to on opposite sides of our area. Thanks to a member that we were able contact we were able to go and get it done. His bike came on Tuesday afternoon, which was good that is got here quickly, usually it takes about two days to get to the destination, but it got here and we were able to go and do work that night.

Last week it warmed up, we had days where it was 29-32 degrees c and so it has been great I love it. Taiwan is a dirty enough place and there is so much junk in the Air that you can not seen the moutians though, and at night you are luck to see a star, but I love to see the sun, I talk with my companion All the time, the people in Taiwan are not as happy as they could be, they need to see the sun, if they could see the sun they would be so much better. I love seeing the Sun.

Ok. you asked about shoes, I am in Nike shoes now. I have used them for along time, and they have been good. I think that just whatever they got at the rack. I know that all shoes are not created equal but I'm not going to need them to compete in events or anything. thank you so much.

I went to costco last week and I learned that my card has expired. so don't worry that. I wrote last week and asked about it. They said that I could get a new card here, but there are not a ton of Costcos here in Taiwan. So don't worry about it. There are members that have card and if we need something that bad we can ask them to help us go there and use theirs.

I need to go I Love you all. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He has given us hope for a better life both for this earth and the next. I know that we are known and that our Father in heaven Loves us. I know that the Bok of Mormon is true and that we can grow closer as a family, friends and people if we will listen to what it tells us to do. I'm sorry there is not so much time today. It is somthing that I'm going to change to adjust for my companion for today anyway. I will email about the same time next week.

Love you all, have fun and be safe. Know that I am thinking about you. 1.2.3 I LOVE YOU
