Conference Weekend

"Hello" Thank you for the letters, I'll be better able to understand now that you told me that. Thank you for the note. Thank you for the letter. Sounds like you all are very busy and having fun at the same time. I am glad to hear that all is well and that all are happy and healthy. Thank you for the photos of Sara. Wow Sara they are beautiful, baptism is so special. You'll remember it for the rest of your life. Thank you. Sounds like everyone is going several different directions and that is a good thing. Also sounds like conference was good. Yes, we will watch it next week here and so we are going to get ready. Today we are going to go to Costco and get some things that go with the season and would be fun to share with the investigators that come to conference. We'll see what happens. We are thinking about just doing something very simple, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We'll see, that is most likely. Thank you for your example in always doing good.

The biggest news this week is that over the weekend we had a baptism! This man is Li3 Di xiong. He had been an investigator for awhile. Missionaries first started to meet with him last January and he has been meeting with us ever since. When I came he had a smoking problem and so we started to talk about this with him and tell him that he needed to stop in order to be baptized. In three months he quit. He was not smoking a little either it was a lot, but he had a change of heart and with the help of our Heavenly Father he has quit. Up to now he has gone three and a half weeks without smoking. I'm so grateful for this Gospel and for the fact that our Father in Heaven will always help us and forgive us if we do our part. I love this guy, after his baptism we went up to him and asked how he was feeling, and with tear filled eyes eyes he looked at both of us and said, "Thank you, thank you, I love you guys... I love this Gospel." I"ll send some photos of him.

Brother Li is awesome, I'm so grateful for the chance that I've had to help him. he has changed completely.

Last week My companion and I went to the second tallest building in the world, 101. We didn't go up in it because it was cloudy and we want to go up when it is a clear day to see the view and take as many photos as we want. So we thought that we where going to go up because it was ok in the morning but later on the clouds rolled in and so we decided to go another day when the weather was better. We did take some photos with it in the background. So later on we were walking back and then we see this Expo going on and we decide that we want to see what it is. Well we get to the entrance and the guards saw that we have to have a ticket and we didn't have one so we go back to see how much a ticket is. We learned that they were $150 quai, that's not a ton, but it's a bit high for something that we don't know what it is. So we decide that we are not going to go, but as we where about to leave this couple talks to my companion Elder Reynolds and gives him two tickets. Well we get in and it ends up being a Buddest art and carving expo. Fun stuff they had some cool things in there, among which were these three bells. Wow these bells where really cool they had Chinese dragons and other things on them. We are standing there thinking wow that would sound cool and would be sweet to have someday don't know where but wow that's cool. Well while we are standing there some people come up and ring the bell, the one in the back that is the largest and wow it sounded cool. Anyway we asked how much those bells where and well they are very expensive. But it was cool to see. Anyway that is what we did last week.

So this last week we have had the chance to do quite a bit of things. I'm so grateful for this chance to be here and share this with the world and bring his children back unto him. Here are the last of the photos for the week, most are of my companion. We have fun and do our best to work hard.

So what is Utah like lately? All the trees are changing color right? Or already have changed? It is hard to believe but this week is my year out here in Taiwan it's crazy. It has been a full year since I have been on American soil. Wow.

Thank you all so much for all that you do for me. For setting the example and always doing your best. Thank you so much. I need to write my Mission Pres but then I'll write another email before I log off.

This week my companion and I have been talking a lot about choices and the attitude that comes from every choice. My companion came up with a name for it, he calls it the Can and Can't, will and won't principle. The idea that our life should be about will and won't because it involves personal commitment to something, and when can and can't involves a lack of the ability to do something. There is a big difference. Anyway food for thought.

I need to go. I love you all.

You are awesome.

Elder Harr
